WT Alumni News
Most recently we heard from former Head Girl Ellie Eden who always had a passion for conservation. As part of her studies with us, she engaged in two weeks of conservation work with rhinos in South Africa which she was then able to use as her Geography research study.
Ellie left us in 2019 to study Environmental Geography (Conservation) at York, going on to achieve a 2:1. She got back in touch to let us know she had just completed an MSc in Sustainability Science with Merit, also at York University:
“I just graduated yesterday and I wanted to message you to say thank you for all the support through my time at WT, I really had an amazing time and likely wouldn’t have pursued my masters degree if it wasn’t for you all.”
Having done this, she is over the moon to have secured her first full time job with the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation. All the best in your future career Ellie!
Another former Head Girl, Anna Colwell, was in touch last summer. She studied Art History at Sussex obtaining a 2:1, after this she stayed at Sussex to complete a postgraduate Diploma which focused on the history of representations of disabilities primarily, but not exclusively, through the medium of photography.
After periods of work in galleries, Anna got in touch to say she was starting her first permanent job at the charity Leukaemia Care. As Philanthropy Lead she is responsible for major donor engagement. Congrats Anna!
And our parents keep in touch too!
In the autumn we also heard from a couple of parents who contacted us to let us know of their children’s academic success as they not only achieved excellent degrees but also progressed on to master’s degrees at UCL and Imperial:
“I would like to let you know that Oscar is doing very well. He is studying for a master’s degree in Chemistry at UCL. We shall never forget the help and care you provided to Oscar at Westminster Tutors during a very difficult phase of his life. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. All the best to you!”
“I so hope you are well. Just thought we’d let you know that Jess got a 1st in Geology at Imperial! She is now going on to do a Master’s.”
