Key Information on Results Day and UCAS
I hope you are all okay as you await your results tomorrow. I totally understand this is a nerve-wracking time for you all and I am getting various last minute queries, so I hope some of the following information will be of use to you:
Information on What Happens on Results Day (results and remarks, plus UCAS):

If you are worried you might be in Clearing:
1) Although I may not be able to give individual advice until about 9am as I need to make sure I have time to research and develop strategy for everyone, students and families are welcome to come into college from 8am so they are ready to start researching options as soon as they get their results and UCAS Track opens at 8am
2) We will have the full team on hand to support everyone – Sean Doherty, our new Principal; me, as the UCAS expert; Will Bynoe, our Academic Director of Studies; Jason Poon, our Exams Officer; Lu Qian, our Registrar; and Hanne Haestrup, our Administrator and known to many as our exams invigilator
3) We can set you up in different rooms (please make sure you bring laptops plus well-charged phones with sufficient minutes as you may need to wait a long time to talk to university admissions teams). I will make sure our support team are briefed about who needs what and they will be there to provide advice, moral support and encouragement throughout the day
4) Clearing Plus: if students find themselves in Clearing they can go to their application and they will see an option to find matches relating to their grades, so this is a quick way to see what might be available. Read more here https://www.ucas.com/undergraduate/clearing-and-results-day/what-clearing/your-clearing-matches
5) If you are in Clearing, your main object is to be strong and secure as many offers as possible by ringing around between 8am and 12pm. You can check in with me to advise on your progress if you are in college, plus I may well have suggestions that are worth a try as sometimes students secure something better than they ever imagined in Clearing. This is a situation where it is worth being cheeky if the opportunity pops up!
6) Another reason for coming into college if you can is that you can then give consent for me to speak to the universities on your behalf if there are situations with mitigating circumstances – they will do this if you give verbal consent on the phone as they will be able to see that I am your UCAS referee. Alternatively some of you will have given ‘nominated access’ to someone who can speak on your behalf if you want – generally one of your parents – I discussed this with you all at the point of your application.
7) At around 1pm I will be available to advise people on their final choices. Please remember that it’s important not to jump off the cliff and to consider your options before you make a Clearing choice – you can only do this one time for one uni/ course. Any Clearing offer you have will hold til then end of the day at least
