It can take a few minutes to explain the name Westminster Tutors to people who don’t know about us. For a start we are in South Kensington, not in Westminster. And we are not, as the name might imply, a tutoring agency, but are one of the best independent sixth form colleges in London. Read more

Since 1934 we have built our reputation on our teachers and they remain our greatest asset today. Our student-teacher ratio is 1:1 and it is our policy to offer a balance of the brightest and best graduates from the top universities with highly qualified teachers who have many years of experience. Our History
Westminster Tutors is one of the oldest tutorial establishments in the country. It was founded in 1934 by the doughty Miss Freeston, who studied Physics at St Hilda’s College, Oxford, and was one of the first women to graduate from Oxford University. Read more
College Facilities
Westminster Tutors has a sociable Common Room where students can eat their meals and make hot drinks, and there are many cafes and sandwich shops nearby where they can buy their lunch. There is internet access throughout the college and a separate Study Room where students can work quietly. Read more
Activities
College life at Westminster Tutors is friendly, lively and inclusive, and we make use of the rich opportunities London offers. The head students, who are appointed annually, take responsibility for arranging student events and activities, as well as ensuring that the views of all are heard and taken into account. Read more
Our Teaching Approach
What makes Westminster Tutors really special is that we remain true to our tutorial college origins, either teaching one-to-one or in very small groups of 2-3 students. We are also the only college to provide academic and pastoral mentoring to each student on a weekly basis. Read more
Careers Guidance
Year after year our students take up places at top UK universities, while others have started apprenticeships with blue-chip companies which will fast-track their careers. Our chief aim is for each student to achieve their own potential and most important of all is to provide information, advice and guidance which broadens options and opportunities rather than closes them down. University Applications
Each year around 95% of our A level cohort go on to higher education, and our aim is to inspire but not force students in this direction. The collegiate atmosphere and the academic calibre of our teachers make the college an ideal stepping stone to university, and providing the best personal guidance on careers and university applications is a central aspect of the support we provide.
